A single-piece Shawl carpet woven with asymmetric Persian knots in workshops of northern Afghanistan, carrying the vertical striped quilt pattern of Kashmir and Kirman shawls onto the carpet. Narrow vertical panels each bear different colors and motifs: some feature boteh (buta) chains, others stylized rows of flowers, and some Herati-like rosettes. To balance the reaction of natural fibers to light and prevent regional tone differences (fading), we recommend rotating your carpet every 2 to 6 months.
